Light Machine

The Rhythm LightScore App

Track your light health.

Get the light that nourishes you.

The Rhythm app reads how much daylight you have actually been in — from your Apple Watch, or from your iPhone’s camera used as a light meter — and turns it into a daily Light Score out of 100. No Apple Watch required.

How it works

  1. 01Track

    Your watch reads the light

Your Apple Watch measures how much daylight you have actually been in, hour by hour. Nothing to log and nothing to remember.

  2. 02Calculate

    A score, not a chart

Each day becomes one Light Score out of 100, anchored to your own sunrise, solar noon and sunset. It breaks into the parts it is made of, so you can see what is actually low.

  3. 03Treat

One thing to do about it

The app gives you a specific recommendation rather than a graph to interpret. When the gap is indoors, the Light Machine is how you close it.

Understanding your light health

Calculate your LightScore

The Rhythm LightScore App tracks data from your Apple Watch to optimize your light intake and understand how your daily habits affect it.

The app encourages you to:

  • Wake up to morning light
  • Spend time in natural sunlight
  • Minimize screen time before bed

iPhone only

No watch? No problem.

The app does two things on an iPhone alone, and neither needs an Apple Watch.

Light meter

Point your iPhone’s camera at the room and it reads the light where you are, in lux. Check in a few times a day and the score is built from that instead.

Remote control

On the same Wi-Fi, the app finds your Light Machine and controls it directly: brightness, routines, on and off.
